The card shows Tom Morris two years before his death in 1908, still smoking his pipe.  Tom Morris played in the 1st ever British Open Championship which was held at Prestwick for 11 years from 1860 to 1870, he won the Championship Belt in 1861, 1862 & 1864, with his Son Young Tom winning the Belt in 1867,68,69, & 70, he then won the Claret Jug in 1872. (The New Trophy after he was able to keep the Belt having won it 3 times consecutively.  Old Tom was born in St.Andrews in June 1821 & Died in St.Andrews on the 24th May 1908 age 86.                                                Ref.928
