Published in Argall,s Series,the image shows a group of early Golfers,the man in the white suit is one James Martin Barnes,better know as"Jim" Barnes,he was born in Lelant in Cornwall & worked as a Caddie & Club Makers apprentice while growing up.He moved to America, where at the age of twenty,he turned Professional but
but never became an American Citizen.In his career he won 4 Major Titles,The US PGA in 1916 & 1919,The US "Open" in 1921 & The British Open in 1925,he won a further 21 regular tour events in Total.He must still be in his teens when the card was 1st produced.
The card is in very good + condition,posted in1908.A RARE card.
This card was posted in 1908 when Barnes was already in America,so the card if definately earlier than 1908. Ref.976
