An original vintage card of the Competitors contesting the 1927

British Amateur Championship over the Links at Hoylake, Dr.Wm. Tweddle, England defeated Eustace Landale, also of England by 7 & 6.Dr.William Tweddle was a plus 1 handicap who played at Hopwood Park (Manchester) Golf Club & also at Stourbridge Golf Club in the Midlands. It appears that Dr.Tweddle was a larger than life personality & became the Captain of the R & A in the 1961, he had already served as Walker Cup Captain in 1934.there is no indication on the card of who the subjects are,but I was  A teaching Pro at Hopwood in the 1990s & the then Club Historian agreed the card was of the Championship. The card appears to have been published locally, without the publisher or photographers name.                                                                                                                                                            Ref.487
