Published by Hourston's Series,Girvan,Ayrshire.The Club,was Founded in 1860,after moving Grounds twice after 1860,Girvan returned to the area in 1902 when The Burgh Council were keen to encourage Tourism by bringing back Golf to Girvan,land had been aquired from Mr J.C.Kennady of Dalquharran & Dunure,with the Prestwick St Nicholas Professional David Kinnell laying out a new links on the land,together with land that had remained from the Original course many years before,the new course officially opened in April 1903 at which point it became a Municipal due to the Council involvement I pressume.Given the date on this card,July 1903, which also has an undivided back, can only be the newly designed David Kinnell course,3 months after opening,Kinnell was the Professional at Prestwick St Nicholas & laid the course out iin early 1903.This card,published in the Hourston series & showing Golfers of the period putting on the 9th Green,it is in Very Good + Condition with a light franking stain & minimal corner wear.                                                                    A RARE RARE card                                                                                                          Ref 701
