Beaconsfield Golf Club House C1910-18. Published by W.H.Smith & Sons Ltd., in their Bridge House Series, number S.15216, this card shows  Beaconsfield  Golf Club House. There is a quote to the reverse side, which says "let us all strive without failing, in faith or duty".I believe the quote was by Winston Churchill as Prime Minister, which would date the card about 1940. The image on the card is of the New Club House, built around 1914, after the Wilton Estate 9 hole course closed. Stanley Hamp designed the New Club House & Harry Colt the New course, which then became Beaconsfield. The Club was founded in1902 & owed its existence to Colonel William Du Pre, a direct descendant of the French Huguenot Family.                                                                            Ref.1599
