Alnmouth Village Club C.1905.The Opening of the extended Golf Course at Alnmouth from 9 to 18 holes C.1905 by his Grace the Duke of Northumberland, the event was marked with an  Exhibition Match between Harry Vardon & J.H.Taylor, who between them Won 11 "British Open" Titles, Taylor 5 & Vardon 6, a record that still stands today. In the morning round, Taylor scored 77  with Vardon one more on 78.T he strong breeze of the morning dropped after lunch with Vardon taking 71 to Taylor's 79 You can find the identical picture that is on this card, on page 40 in Alnmouth's Club History. The person who originally sent this card must have either been a local or attended the Match, as the Name of a young girl (Cissy) has been written below her photograph on the card, which is extremely RARE. The card is in FINE condition, posted on March 24th 1907 18 months after the match took place. There is a small partial franking mark on the high rooftop. This is the second card from this set I have listed.                                                                                                                                                             Ref.1151
