Welcome to Golf on Old Picture Postcards

  • 'Golf on Old Picture Postcards' is a website where the emphasis is on sourcing quality, rare or scarce golfing postcards for the discerning collector. In the current climate it is more important than ever to  buy the "best condition" postcards possible , the only exception to this rule being when an item is particularly scarce. In this case the choice is always limited anyway, meaning  you may have to buy a poorer quality card & hope to find a better one at a later date.

  • The majority of our postcards date from 1900 to around 1935, with a small amount later than this. There is a wide variety of postcards including Golf clubs & Courses across the British Isles, rare Tom Morris cards from 1903-1905, through to a range of named golfer & personality cards and also many cards featuring a personality who is not named. We also stock golf related comic postcards & artisitic postcards, all from the same era. Rest assured that much research goes into the background history of all the cards on our website and we are continually trying to upgrade information where & whenever possible.

  • Included in our diverse inventory are many cards that originally came in sets or a series, such as Valentines Valesque, Davidson's Ideal, Salmon's AR Quinton, Wrench, Miller & Lang, Raphael Tuck & Sons, Perrier, Jarrolds, Francis Frith & Co, RA Series, William Richie & Sons, Reliable, Grenville, Beagles Postcards, James Patrick's Castle Series and Milton Postcards. The list is endless and then there were all the individual stationers and Post Offices that published postcards to sell in their stores. Anyone wishing to purchase 3 or more from any one series please contact us directly as we would be more than happy to negotiate a discount on the purchase price.

  • All of our postcards are originals & not copies or reproductions, with the exception of 5 or 6 cards which are official re-issues and this is stated in the descriptions. Hopefully we will have something of interest to a wide & varied range of collectors. If there is anything in particular you are looking for or you require further information regarding any of our items, please do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail or telephone.

  • You will see when you view our site that all items show both a front & reverse scan & that the description will contain every last detail on each card, something that is often missing from other websites. Should you require even further detail, a high resolution scan of any item can be provided on request.

  • We would very much like to hear from anyone who has Golfing Postcards for sale, in whatever quantities, please send details using our 'contact us' facility.

  • Please note that there is a full unconditional money back guarantee should you not be satisfied with your purchase (please see 'Terms of Use' page for full details)

  • Payment is accepted by debit & credit cards via PayPal (a PayPal account is not required to use this facilty) or, if you prefer, you can pay by Cheque by emailing your order to us directly at golfpicturepostcards@gmail.com (please see 'Terms of Use' page for full details)

  • We believe our website may be unique, as it is possibly the only site dedicated to Golfing Postcards, and we hope this brief outline gives you some idea of what we can offer and the dedication that has gone into finding these beautiful, often rare little pieces of history. We will be listing new items every week, so watch out for new additions and please enjoy browsing !

There are two other websites that may be of interest to collectors both new or established. Firstly, "Golfs Missing Links" which is devoted to Golf Courses that for various reasons did not survive over the last hundred years or so, but postcards of them have. It's suprising how many courses disappeared after WW1 & WW2, some changed their names whilst others just vanished, their leases not being renewed etc. The second site is "edinphoto.org.uk",  which provides a comprehensive list of postcard publishers, printers & manufacturers from the turn of the 20th Century.

We would like to say a big thank you to all our new and regular customers who have used our website since we "launched" back in November 2015 - please don't forget to tell your golf postcard collecting friends about us !
